I signed up for Skillshare Because of free trial.
The afternoon BEFORE my trial was designed to finish I got an email from them thanking me for subscribing to Premium.
Obviously, I was perplexed. It's normal for organizations to offer free trials in hopes that you like the product enough to really cover it. What is not normal is for your enterprise to LIE for you and bill you the day before the free trial is supposed to even finish, in effect tricking you and then stealing your cash. I was angry.
I looked online and following 30 minutes of digging, I found a phone number for your company (Red flag, exactly what valid company does not have an easily accessible customer support number?) . I called this number and it went straight to voicemail. The voice on the voicemail appeared like some stoned college kid, complete with "ums" and "likes"(Red flag number 2). Now I was freaking out cause most of these adventures were leading me to think this actually was a scam. The only real option left to me was to write them an email via their site. This was 3 months before, and I have yet to get a response.
I'm appalled at the way that they handle business (by tricking their customers, then dismissing their concerns). They stole my money without any warning and are currently unreachable.
I moved back to their own site and even their advertisement for Premium is really a lie. It clearly says that your Premium accounts is cancelable at anytime. What they actually mean is you're able to cancel it so that it won't revive at the next billing cycle (that will be an entire year!!) . They Improve Your Photography Skills with Skillshare - FilterGrade are crooks. If their content were any good, I would have happily continued with their services, but all their movies are items I can locate on YouTube or other areas at no cost. The one thing I am do now is spare other people the hassle.
DO NOT sign up for your free trial. If you do a bit more research you will find a multitude of other reviews such as mine.
Proceed into Lynda.com or even YouTube. Please, do not make the identical mistake that I did, and keep away!!
I wrote to Skillshare one last time, and it seems like in the previous 4 months they've really upped their customer service match. I obtained a same-day response apologizing to my prior experience and with an offer to refund me all of my cash. This gesture has been more than I expected, and I am grateful to know that people do work in this business, and it seems they are listening to the negative reviews and also seeking to make a much better firm. I still have a sour taste in my mouth, but I really feel as though after they finished up giving me all my cash back I need to update my review and provide them more than 1 star.
